The brain works in mysterious ways...

Hi all,

So, after having NO ideas for new dolls I'd decided to just start working on stocking up on dolls for the convention next year. I'm gonna need a lot of them. Might as well start now, right? Until today at work I had a stroke of genius and filled out a whole page (you'll see) on ideas for new dolls! So keep an eye out for future entries cause they're gonna be flowing! A handful of the new dolls are from video games, a handful from anime shows; there's going to be a lot of little mini dolls you can use as keychains too. Someday I will get back to using my clay and that oven that I have but right now I am a crochet fiend! Haha so just wanted to share my random brain surge and my poor husband is going to even further hate me because our studio and our living are both a complete mess because of all my yarn right now. Poor guy >.<
I do take commission work too so if anyone is interested come visit my Etsy shop and message me what you're looking for. I love making commission work! ^_^
Speaking of, I did think of a really cool pillow idea that may be super popular if I can figure out how to make it. So no hints until I know it'll work. Then I may show some hints ^_^

 Who's that Pokemon???

Yup, this is how the brain works. Lots and lots of scribbles

Mini Dolls!

I think I need to branch out of my dolls skill. I know that they are cute and I am comfortable making them, but I feel the need to make something...new, something fresh. Tried making mini ninja dolls but I think I need to perfect them before showing them to the public. What do you guys think? Maybe I could show you here before anyone else sees them?
I have little octopi (I love the word) to show you guys too. I'll post a picture below.
I think I'm going to try my hand at little pokemon dolls. Everyone loves pokemon, right? and who doesn't like cute little things? Maybe they will be as a keychain?
Another thing to mention is that I (hopefully) will be heading to AnimeNext 2013 to sell my dolls! Extremely excited. Even if I can't get a booth I'm still going to the con, but hopefully I'll be able to get into Artist Alley. I'd love the chance to get my dolls more out there. It'd be great.
So that's all for now, but here are my attempts at mini ninjas and octopi. What do you think?

Giant Step for One Artist

Hey all,

I've decided to take a big leap of faith in my dolls...I'm going to a con with them and selling them in Artist Alley. I have a friend whose done it and she recommends about 40 of each. That's a LOT of dolls! O.O SO I may be crocheting for quite awhile. But I figure if I start now by the time next summer rolls around I should be prepared. The question now is- which dolls do I bring with me? I already designed the look of the booth that my poor husband has *coughcough* volunteered *cough* to make for me, and I think he may kill me by the time he finishes.
I recently did another Princess Zelda:
I haven't made her in awhile and people seemed to really like her so...here she is! haha
I also made the entire Sailor Scout army:
They do REALLY well on my Etsy site and it makes me super happy when people tell me how much they love em. I thought of doing Sailor Cosmos next. She's not super well known since she doesn't show up in the anime (just once, briefly) but she's in the manga and she's pretty- all in white. So that may be the next doll I work on. Working on Tira from Soul Calibur 4 right now. Trying to figure out how to make her weapon before she's shown to the public, lol, so we shall see.

Reflecting

 Hi guys and gals,

It's been a few days since I last posted so I thought I'd update. My Etsy store is so full of dolls right now! I can't believe how much competition is out there- so many wonderful dolls! But I'm enjoying the ones I am creating and people love em which makes me a happy camper. The biggest achievement thus far has been my Big Daddy down below. I did one as a commission for someone and they loved it. So I posted it on my deviantart account to show off my awesome talent and that I'd never do one again...then did another commission of one XD apparently I'll never learn, but as long as someone loves it, I don't mind making them. And I'm getting better the more I make em.
Below are a handful of new dolls I've made too. They're all (mostly) available in my Etsy shop if anyone is interested in one.

Roy Mustang from the anime Fullmetal Alchemist (GREAT show if anyone has never seen it yet)

 Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist

Hatsune Miku and Megurine Luka from the Vocaloid series. It's a voice synthesizer program that's huge in Japan and all over the world. These are two characters from the program

Big Daddy from the video game Bioshock

Sailor Moon and Tuzedo Mask from the anime series, Sailor Moon

Completed Amigurumi

Here is a handful of dolls that I've already created. I have a ton more but I will add them in a day or two. Don't want to overload the blog on its first day, lol.
All of my dolls are sold in my Etsy store. Feel free to check it out!

Link from The Legend of Zelda

Ciel Phantomhive from the Black Butler anime series
(its actually a guy disguised as a woman. Interesting outfit I know. Watch the show to understand)

                                                        Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII

                                                               Yuna from Final Fantasy X-2
wasn't much a fan of the sequel, the first is my favorite Final Fantasy game by far, but I LOVE the Dress Spheres from the game. <3

Introduction to me and my Blog

Hi everyone!
I created this blog to have a way to better show off my artwork and crafts to the world. I love making art and making it for others, especially to make people happy. I specialize in making Amigurumi which basically means crochet or knitted stuffed dolls in Japanese. I am a video game/anime nerd at heart so almost all my dolls have been characters from various games and anime, thus far. I sell a lot of them in my Etsy shop which you are welcome to visit anytime, but I also do commissions so if you're interested in purchasing anything, please let me know!
This blog will be all about my progress on various projects, be it in art (drawing/painting) or crocheting or even cross-stitching (new to the last one but I'm getting the hang of it ^_^)!
I hope you enjoy following me along on my quest to become a famous artist someday! Or, y'know, enjoy looking at all my stuff! Thanks for checking my blog out!
